Sermon Notes

Luke 9:51
When the days were approaching for His ascension, He was determined to go to Jerusalem.

  • Luke 18:35-41
As Jesus was approaching Jericho a blind man was sitting by the road begging. Now hearing a crowd going by he began to inquire what this was. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by and he called out saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him, and when he came near, He questioned him…
  • Isaiah 55:6
Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.
  • Jeremiah 23:5-6
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, The LORD our righteousness.”
  • John 1:31-34
I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water. John testified saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.'” I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.
  • Isaiah 9:6-7
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.
  • Psalm 2:7
I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD; He said to Me, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You.”
  • Acts 4:10
Let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, who God raised from the dead, by this name this man stands here before you in good health.
  • Acts 4:17
But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man in this name.
  • Acts 4:23-25
When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O LORD, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples devise futile things?'”
  • Acts 4:29-31
And now LORD, take note of their threats and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence while You extend Your hand to heal and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.
  • Psalm 2:10-12
Now therefore, O kings, show discernment, take warning, O judges of the earth. Worship the LORD with reverence and rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son that He not become angry and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
  • Luke 20:44
Therefore, David calls Him LORD and how is He his Son?
