Sermon Notes

Presentation of the King of Peace/Righteousness/Glory – Praise/Prayer (Worship/Faith) response of God’s people. {SOVEREIGN KING}

Chapter 8: Of Christ the Mediator
10. This number and order of offices is necessary;…we stand in need of His prophetical office;…we need His priestly office…; and in respect to our averseness and utter inability to return to God, and for our rescue and security from our spiritual adversaries, we need His kingly office to convince, subdue, draw, uphold, deliver, and preserve us to His heavenly kingdom.

Chapter 17: Of The Perseverance {Preservation} of the Saints
1. Those whom God hath accepted in the beloved,…can neither totally nor finally fall from the state of grace, but shall certainly persevere {be preserved} therein to the end, and be eternally saved,…He is still the same, and they shall be sure to be kept by the power of God unto salvation,…, they being engraven upon the palm of His hands, and their names having been written in the book of life from all eternity.

  • John 10:27-30
    “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
  • Jude 1:24-25
    Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
  • Romans 8:28-39
    And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. … …If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Isaiah 49:15-16
    “Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
  • Revelation 17:14
    “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”
