Pipe organ at SBC, part of our blended worship service

Music Ministry

Our worship team and music ministry are here to lead our congregation in the praise and worship of God every Sunday morning. (You can read more about the order of our Sunday worship service here.) We desire for God to receive all of the glory, so we carefully select songs with lyrics that are theologically sound.

We use a blended worship style in our services, worshiping with a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary praise. We embrace both new songs and classic hymns, desiring to worship with music that truly glorifies God.

We also highly recommend the book A Taste of Heaven: Worship in the Light of Eternity by R.C. Sproul.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)

Songs and Instruments

We use the hymnal The Singing Church for our opening and closing hymns. Because of our preference for a blended worship style, our praise and worship service also includes a variety of contemporary worship songs. Our worship team uses the following instruments during our services: pipe organ, flute, piano, clarinet, and trumpet.
